Playoff Tournament Guidelines
All teams will be seeded 1st through 16th based on their regular season record. The 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups of 4 teams that play each other 3 times. The 4 brackets are as follows: Willie Mays bracket: 1st, 8th, 9th, and 16th seeds Mickey Mantle bracket: 4th, 5th, 12th, and 13th seeds Ted Williams bracket: 3rd, 6th, 11th, and 14th seeds Roberto Clemente bracket: 2nd, 7th, 10th, and 15th seeds Each team plays 3 playoff games in Round 1 in a round-robin format within their bracket (Mays, Mantle, Williams, and Clemente). The teams with the best record in these 4 brackets will face each other in Round 2 (Ruth and Aaron brackets) and will be re-seeded, 1 through 4 - 1st vs. 4th and 2nd vs. 3rd. The winners in Round 2 will face each other in the OTB Championship. In the event of a first place tie in any of the brackets in the round-robin, a tiebreaker process will apply. |
